Dante woke up after a century-long slumber, and fulfilled the Shiro prophecy.
He dwelled in his cave, then found sustenance in the form of a wild Pidgeot.

On the very peak of Celadon Mountain, Dante, the now awoken heir to the Shiro,
looked over the mid-afternoon Celadon Skyline. He incinerated the remains of
the Pidgeot he devoured earlier, and let out a deep belch that echoed
throughout the mountain.
He retreated back to the heart of the mountain, where his roost lay.
It was made up of craggy rock in a circular shape, making a semblance of a rock
nest. There were many small holes inside the roost wall, which were probably
made to hold whatever was needed.
"Hrm," Dante contemplated, "what _are_ in these holes, anyway?"
Dante plunged his enormous talons inside each the holes, yielding
nothing---except one. It was an extremely old book, with cover not of wood but
of iron, and with pages not of paper--but of wood.
"Hrm," he repeated, and he opened the book as careful as a five hundred pound
flying, killing machine could do. The wood held intricate cuts, slashes, and
marks which numbered hundreds each page--the book was over three hundred pages.
"This was written in Talon-script! It's....the scriptures of Cinder! I haven't
read this book since last I was a hatchling...methinks it was left here for me
to find."
Talon script was the ancient Charizard language written before Dante's time,
written by the claw-scribe Ngeira. The scriptures of Cinder was the holy book
of the Shiro clan, written by Dante's ancient sire, Kerrald. It was inspired by
the ancient worship of the Legendary Bird, Moltres, and contained the writings
of a thousand Shiro.
"And so it was written," Dante quoted, "that a heir to the clan Shiro would
arise from the hatch-parents Firel and Agina, true brothers and sisters of the
flame, and from them, will reign the God-king and raise the clan from the
ashes, and arise as the phoenix, the God, Moltres."
"I _will_ raise the clan," he declared. Dante donned the rest of the things he
had discovered-- a long hooded black cloak, which he stored the Book in, and
light armor, forged by his folk.
"But, I hunger once more. I will avenge them by moving from the roost in the
open, and learn what has become of my world."
He took to the skies in search of something to eat. He remember a place his
father had once spoken of- a place full of easy kills and rampant meaty and
furry creatures to feast upon. But this place also had the drawback of being a
distance away.
"I hope it still remains...", he thought.
Powering his wings, he took off from the mountain.....
In the direction of the faraway Viridian Forest.
