In the distance, he could just barely make out the volcanic island of Cinnabar against the horizon. The table next to him held a glass of Clefairy-Cola, his clipboard, and an empty Pokeball. Cygnet flew around in the open skies, ducking and weaving around the odd Pidgey winging its way out from Viridian Forest. In his talons, he held Munty by the scruff of the neck, the crippled Pikachu enjoying the freedom of flight. Galahad was off buying supplies from Hellion Hive, the place of his birth, as well as seeing how the mighty colony had changed over the years. Chansey was hanging with her friends at the Hellion Pokecentre, so all that remained was Oddish. The weed-Pokemon bounced its way out onto the balcony, having grown tired of watching endless reruns of Dragonite Pokeball Z. Hopping onto its master's stomach, Felix picked it up and played with it as if it were an infant, gently swaying it from side to side causing the Oddish to giggle and smile. Though his Pokemon were having fun now that they had a chance to get out of their Pokeballs and catch up with their old friends, Felix was beginning to grow restless. The Pokemon Journey had taken its toll on his ability to settle down, Felix wanted to go out into the world and explore it once more. Perhaps he'd phone Kirsty, wherever she was, or Samuraichu, both of which he hadn't heard from for quite some time. Felix couldn't go back to school, not after this. His best friend was off in another dimension, and if he went back there was no doubt in his mind that he'd have to fend of endless challengers now that he'd earnt himself somewhat of a reputation as a trainer. Training seemed to be the only thing in his life now that mattered to him, it provided the cash he sought after, given him a name and provided him with adventure and excitement. His own father was living proof that once you took up the belt and Pokedex, there was no turning back. What was life like, he thought, for those not undertaking a Pokemon Journey. How could they exist without the adrenalin, the sense of of freedom it provided. One of his closer friends from Pokemon Tech, Andrew, had decided against a Pokemon Journey and instead moved to Saffron to study engineering. Felix hadn't heard from him for almost a year now. He was probably having a good time, the young trainer thought, and took another sip from his glass of soft drink. Something was coming. Something was coming that would alter his life completely, and set him on a new path towards self-fulfilment. Felix knew that a turning-point in his life was long overdue, he could somehow predict when his life would go off on a new tangent. Perhaps it was the visions, the dreams, or something else, but he had begun to realise within himself a strange ability to see a short distance into the future, as if he were an actor on a stage and holding his script, read ahead to prepare for his next lines. Perhaps it would be a person, or an event, or a revelation, but it was going to be big, he knew it. Oddish curled up in his lap, and fell asleep. TBC...
