Ok, this is my very first one, and it is short....just an Intro of sorts...
"What the hell?"
D'lesse turned quickly to see her daughter standing in the middle of the
street.
"Libby!" She called. "Libby, come back now!"
D'lesse was completely frozen.
"Mummy, look!" Libby called back, as she picked up a piece of paper and
waved it in the air
"Libby, please!" She tried to take a step off the curb to pull her daughter
back, but the ice around her feet had her stuck to the pavement "Libby!"
D'lesse was crying now.
She could see cars pulled up at the traffic lights further down the road,
and there was no way that they would see Libby in the middle of the road
"Damn you, you bastards!" D'lesse called to the 3 men, standing behind a
Dumpster in the alley behind her "What did I ever do to you! You could have
just asked for my bag. I would have given it to you!"
"Stupid girl. They will stop for her" One of the men said. "Do you really
think they would run her down?"
"They can't see her." D'lesse cried. She turned back to Libby, who was
looking at the pictures on the piece of paper. "Libby, baby, come back to
mummy."
"Mummy?" Libby said. "Why are your feet stuck?"
"Don't worry about me, come over here baby." D'lesse held out her arms. Her
feet were beginning to come free, and she was trying to wiggle them free.
"Damned Seels and their icebeams"
"Mummy come look!" Libby called.
D'lesse continued to wiggle her feet free.
And that is when it happened.
She heard a horn.
She was right
They didn't see her.
"LIBBY!!!!" D'lesse screamed

There was darkness.
And there was no sound.
Only the warmth, of something soft.
D'lesse was crying.
That was to be expected.
She was crying out Libby's name.

It was 6 months later, and Thaddeus was sitting on the steps of D'lesse's
apartment building. She was sitting on the windowsill, 3 floors up, with her
legs hanging over.
"You know," Thaddeus started, taking a puff from his cigarette "If you are
going to jump, can you do it now? I have a date in 1 hour."
"Fuck you." She said. And continued looking down at him.
"C'mon. Do it already you stupid bitch. If you think that you can bring her
back by killing yourself, then do it."
D'lesse made a noise like a deflating balloon. Then she disappeared back
inside her apartment.
"Stupid girl." Said Thaddeus, stubbing his cigarette out. "She'll never
learn."
Just at that moment, D'lesse appeared behind him.
"How dare you." She hissed
"It's your own fucking fault." Thaddeus said, defending himself.
The look on D'lesse's face turned from death, to rage.
In one swift punch, D'lesse had her bother down on the ground in a bleeding
mess.
He was crying as D'lesse rolled him onto his back.
"See.I can do what I want to dear brother"
"You didn't have to do that" He cried
"Well leave me alone then." She said as she walked out into the middle of
the road. She was still crying, but she was so angry. The scene of Libby
getting hit by that car was just sticking in her mind. She couldn't let go.
D'lesse fell to her knees
"She was only five years old!" She cried, burying her face in her hands.
Thaddeus, after putting himself back together, pulled his sister off the
road.
"Lesse, it will be alright." He said, giving her a hug. "I know it is hard.
It's like that for everyone. I think you just need to get on with it."
"Get on with it?" D'lesse said through the tears. "I cant."
"You can. You are strong. I know you can."
D'lesse wiped her nose.
"I guess. Maybe I just need to meet some new people"
