She glanced down at Spunky, who was playing with Roo. "Remember though.... these
are only small buildings for students to keep track of their research on
free-roaming pokemon while they're doing it. Most of the big work is done at the
university under controlled settings. Like the real nitty gritty of breeding. If
you're trying to see what happens when you breed two pokemon with particular
traits, you're going to have more luck if you put them together in a controlled
setting than if you leave them in the wild, where other pokemon can interfere.
You're interested in moves. Here they test the moves in natural settings. In the
university, there's a whole division trying to develop new moves and convert
existing ones for TMs and HMs."
"I thought that was what Silph did," said Runt.
"A lot of research at the university is funded by Silph," said Sarah Jane. "Rarely
have students managed to actually create new moves, but a few have made enough
breakthroughs that, after graduation, they've been hired by Silph to continue the
research."
"Can we check that out?" asked Damien.
"Tomorrow," said Sarah Jane.

"NO WAY!" exclaimed Sarah Jane. "She's too young to be able to fly!"

"Come on, after them!" Sarah Jane ran, followed by Shields, Cuddles, and Spunky.
"NIIIII!!!!" called Cuddles.
"Sarah Jane, what about one of your flying pokemon?" asked Runt.
"All my pokemon are loose on the grounds!" she replied. "But this shouldn't be
happening! Pteryx' wings aren't developed enough to hold her aloft!"
"Gengar gengar gengar!" called out Spook, who caught up with them.
"WHAT?" Sarah Jane stopped, surprised. Damien tried to stop running, but didn't
quite stop in time and plowed into Sarah Jane, sending the two tumbling to the
ground. Sarah Jane tried to crawl out from under Damien.
"What is it?" said Runt as he tried to help them up.
"Spook said there is a Haunter carrying Pteryx!" exclaimed Sarah Jane. She looked
around to try and locate the baby aerodactyl. It was flapping its wings nearby,
apparently hovering. "Haunter, stop!"
"HAW HAW HAUNTER!" said the ghost who appeared, its disembodied hands holding
Pteryx aloft. Suddenly, it took off again.
"Do you know that haunter?" asked Damien.
"It was my mother's haunter," replied Sarah Jane. "Since my mother died, it's just
been haunting the place."
"It's making off with Pteryx agaiin! Spook, go after it, but don't hurt the baby!"
ordered Damian.
